Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Her range of her music from the beginning is described as "lo fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has incorporated elements from hip hop electronic music and rock. She often uses science fiction and feminist themes within her lyrics. Five studio albums have been released by her. Grimes came from Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. Her first independent career in the latter part of the decade. In 2010, she dropped two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. The album was released in 2012 and Visions will be her third studio effort. She signed with 4AD. Visions contains the two singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" as well as the Canadian music industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in 2015. It received high praise from reviewers and numerous publications voted it the best album. In the year 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes is the judge for Alter Ego, a music contest. She participated in the role-playing game that of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
