Morgan Smith
A graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University and Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan was a Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) then in 2001 made his professional debut with the company as Donald in Billy Budd. Smith is an established Seattle popular and has performed roles in twelve other productions such as Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra, as well as The Count Alamaviva, in Le nozze di Figaro. Smith, a frequent performer has made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. In addition, he performed an appearance in the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral version of Brahms' beloved cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange as part of his orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems by Brahms as well as Faure and Mozart, the Masses with the choral works in C Minor as well as G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass and a variety of Cantatas and Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and il Moderato. the Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included in the concert program.
